Police in Kitwe on the Copperbelt have arrested a 41-year-old man of Misaka farming block for suspected incest and threatening violence on his 71-year-old mother.
George Phiri is alleged to have been forcing himself on his mother.
According to a report filed-in by the victim who is also a Peasant Farmer of Kitwe’s Misaka farming block, the incident is said to have occurred between June and July this year and was only reported to the police on Wednesday this week.
In a statement issued to ZNBC news in Kitwe, Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba explained that the victim could not report the matter earlier as she was threatened by the suspect.
