A MAN of Lusangazi of Eastern Province who allegedly confessed to killing a three-year-old child for rituals has led police to the remains of the child, which among them is the skull.
The team of Police officers managed to recover a broken skull, three ribs and a pair of brownish trousers which have since been secured as exhibits.
The child went missing two months ago and reported missing after he went to visit his family members in another village.
On the fateful day, the boy decided to join friends who were herding cattle and while in the bush, the child allegedly left his friends and went back to the village ,but on his way he got lost.
Police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga has since updated to state that two suspects, Robson Sakala and Benson Sakala have led police to the crime scene.
“Police were at around 16:45 hours today (August 5th, yesterday) led by the two Murder suspects Robson Sakala and Benson Sakala to the scene of crime, at the edge of Kasangazi Stream in Lusangazi District near one of the suspect’s farm. This is where the body of then alleged missing Child was dumped,” he said.
He said the team of Police officers managed to recover a broken skull, 3 ribs and a pair of brownish trousers which have since been secured as exhibits.
“The remains shall be brought to Lusaka for pathological examination at The University Teaching Hospitals. The child aged three went missing on the May 21, 2023 in Lusangazi district,” he said.
