Kabwe police nab 14 rioting Street vendors

 


FOURTEEN street vendors have been arrested in Kabwe for riotous behaviour. 

Central Province Minister Credo Nanjuwa confirmed this in an interview, saying the riot began after some bus drivers started operating in illegal places due to the Kabwe City Council’s failure to secure a clear designated space for them.

 Nanjuwa said this prompted street vendors to also return to town but were met by the police.

 “There was some kind of confusion in Kabwe after the local authority implemented the directive of the government to take out street vendors and also to take the minibus operations to the right destination.
