4 Young Phiroz Workers Plead Not Guilty

 


Four workers from Young Phiroz General Dealers in Chipata have pleaded not guilty to fraudulent false accounting and theft by servant involving 158,612 Kwacha.



ROSEMARY NYALAZI , NATASHA ZULU both Cashiers, ANNIE MAKUNGU counter Assistant and ZELIPA MWANZA General Worker, appeared before Chipata Principal Resident Magistrate, BONIFACE MWALA.

It is alleged that on unknown dates but between February 1, and June 20, 2023, the accused with intent to defraud did make false entries in their employers accounting books, namely cashier register.

In the second count, the accused are alleged to have stolen 76,254 Kwacha cash and various items valued at 82,358 Kwacha which came into their possession by virtue of their employment.



Two witnesses have since testified in the matter.

The case has since been adjourned to August 28 and 29, 2023 for continuation of trial.

The accused are represented by JOHN PHIRI of JMP Chambers.
