a woman fakes pregnancy for nine months and is caught at the hospital and boyfriend did not know.

In a bizarre and astounding turn of events, a woman resorted to an extraordinary act of deception, faking a pregnancy for a grueling nine months, only for the truth to be unveiled in a startling manner at the hospital. This peculiar saga highlights the lengths to which people can go in pursuit of their goals and the shocking consequences that can unfold when the truth finally emerges.

The tale begins with a woman who had seemingly decided to manipulate her boyfriend into providing financial support by pretending to be pregnant. Over the course of nine months, she meticulously crafted an elaborate ruse that included wearing maternity clothes, exhibiting various symptoms associated with pregnancy, and garnering emotional support from her unsuspecting partner.

The climax of this astonishing story unfolded when the woman was due to deliver the supposed baby. She was rushed to the hospital, ostensibly in labor, with her boyfriend in tow, eagerly awaiting the arrival of their child. It was at this point that reality collided with her elaborate fiction.

As the medical staff prepared for the delivery, they were met with a puzzling sight. Instead of a baby, the woman revealed an abundance of clothes stuffed beneath her maternity attire. The shocking discovery left hospital staff and her boyfriend utterly flabbergasted.

The truth had finally come to light, and the woman's deception unraveled before her eyes. Her baffled boyfriend, who had been led to believe he was about to become a father, was left grappling with the emotional and financial ramifications of this elaborate scheme.

This astounding tale serves as a stark reminder of the lengths some individuals are willing to go to for personal gain, even at the expense of trust and integrity. Deception of this magnitude can have far-reaching consequences, not only for the individuals involved but also for the relationships and lives impacted by such elaborate ruses.

As the dust settles on this peculiar episode, it prompts a broader discussion about honesty, trust, and the importance of open communication in relationships. The woman's actions, while certainly extreme, underscore the significance of maintaining transparency and trust in personal connections.

In conclusion, the woman's audacious act of faking a pregnancy for nine months, only to be exposed at the hospital, is a cautionary tale about the potential consequences of deceit and manipulation in relationships. It serves as a striking reminder of the value of trust and the imperative of maintaining open relationship.

Kanakantapa man kills his wife and commits suicide, leaving their seven months old child

A 26-YEAR-OLD MAN of Kanakantapa Resettlement Scheme has allegedly killed his wife before taking his own life after a suspected marital dispute.

The unsettling discovery occurred on Sunday this week around 17:00 hours, when a concerned neighbour noticed the absence of the couple from their farmhouse since morning.

Alarmed by this, the neighbour decided to check and found the house securely locked, although the cries of the couple’s seven-month-old baby could be heard from within.

Police deputy spokesperson Danny Mwale said the neighbour mobilised other neighbours and together they forced the door open and discovered Dorcas Chirwa aged 20 lying unconscious in a pool of blood while her se-month-old baby was sucking the breast.

He said the husband was seen hanging on the rafter of the roof.

“Immediately Police were alerted and visited the scene. The couple was rushed to Chongwe District Hospital where they were both pronounced dead upon arrival. The bodies were deposited in the same Hospital mortuary awaiting post-mortem,” he said.

Mr Mwale said the baby was handed over to the hospital staff for safe custody.

“Dorcas Chirwa was found with a deep cut on her head and a stool which is believed to have been used in the act was picked by Police officers to help with investigations. The incident is believed to have occurred between October 14, 2023 around 21:00 hours and October 15, 2023 around 16:00 hours.

The deceased couple was a property caretaker at one of the farms in F village area located in Kanakantapa Resettlement Scheme in Chongwe District,” he said.

Mr Mwale said couple is said to have had marital disputes and received counselling on several occasions.

He said the owner of the farm is reported to be outside the country and efforts to locate the relatives of the deceased are ongoing.

Meanwhile, Police received a report in which a human skeleton was discovered at a named farm in New Kasama area in Lusaka.

He said the owner of the farm while patrolling his farm area, discovered a human skeleton and immediately called his neighbours who, together after a thorough search, discovered a faded chitenge material tied to a tree about 30 meters away from the scene.

“Later, one of the Neighbours identified the chitenge material to be that of her niece identified as Lydia Siachetema aged 13 who was reported missing on February 11, 2023 around 08:00 hours.

Police officers were alerted and rushed to the scene. Investigations revealed that the chitenge material matched with the description in the report recorded about the missing person on February 11, 2023,” he said.

Mr Mwale said the remains of the deceased were taken to the University Teaching Hospitals mortuary awaiting post-mortem, while investigations to establish the actual cause of death are ongoing.

The people of Zambia want former President Edgar Lungu to return to active politics in order to salvage the nation.

Patriotic Front (PF) National Chairperson for Industries Frank Ng’ambi believes the people of Zambia want former President Edgar Lungu to return to active politics in order to salvage the nation.

Mr. Ng’ambi said the UPND Government has failed to improve the quality of life for Zambians after coming into office in 2021.

The immediate past Chifubu Member of Parliament in Ndola said people’s livelihoods have worsened owing to the tripled prices of mealie meal, fuel, fertiliser and electricity.

Featuring on a special interview on Muvi Television in Lusaka, Mr. Ng’ambi said the people of Zambia have realised that President Hakainde Hichilema and the UPND formed Government in 2021 on rhetoric.

He said President Hichilema has failed to reduce the cost of mealie meal, fuel, fertiliser which is contrary to his campaign promises prior to the elections.

Mr. Ng’ambi said President Hichilema promised to facilitate the lowering of fuel prices by removing perceived corrupt middle men in the petroleum industry.

“The cost of simple vegetables like rape has gone up. I am basically saying this aspect wherever ECL goes people are rising in larger numbers persuading him to come back to politics. This is because people have compared the governance of ECL and the current President. I know that ECL graciously retired from politics but it is the Zambian people each time they see him. They are persuading him to come back to politics,” Mr. Ng’ambi said.

He said the removal of subsidies on fuel has contributed to the high cost of living currently prevailing in Zambia.

Meanwhile, Mr. Ng’ambi has charged that rule of law has degenerated under the UPND reign.

He said the UPND has not restored rule of law as promised as evidenced by its intolerance and the tendency of denying opposition political parties from holding public rallies.

Social media personality Chilufya Tayali says he is now enjoying time with his family after abandoning “ALEBWELELAPO” campaign.

Tayali started the ALEBWELELAPO campaign, which is aimed at calling back former president Edgar Lungu to active politics and run in 2026 elections.

“I have done back to the basics, which is, “family comes first”, those other agendas were just denying me such opportunities by either being in cells or scared of being arrested, in the next minute, all in the name of #Alebwelelapo.” says Tayali.

Tayali has turned against Lungu, saying he is not capable of facing incumbent president Hakainde Hichilema. He also complains that despite the talk he did for him, Lungu never supported him.

Ball will fix it slogan dead not even Bally says it anymore M’membe

Ball will fix it slogan dead not even Bally says it anymore M’membe

Socialist Party President Dr Fred M’membe says today no one is saying the campaign slogan for the United Party for National Development (UPND) that “Bally will fix it, not even Bally himself because of the high cost of living.

Dr M’membe says the rising cost of living is hurting and there don’t seem to be a quick political fixes President Hakainde Hichilema and the UPND promised.

He says people are feeling the pressure financially, psychologically and otherwise with the rising cost of living.

Dr M’membe says the cost of living is more than an economic squeeze, it is a public health emergency, potentially on a par with the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It is a fact that the rising cost of living is more than an economic squeeze: it is a public health emergency, potentially on a par with the COVID-19 pandemic. Not being able to afford the essentials, such as food, rent, electricity or transport, has wide-ranging negative impacts on mental and physical health and well-being.”

In a post shared on his Facebook page seen by Zambian Eye, Dr M’membe said;

“HIGH COST OF LIVING IS HURTING, IT’S A TIME BOMB

Today, I want to share my deepest thoughts and feelings about the sad reality of the hunger, poverty and despair that is prevailing in our homeland, among our people currently.

I want to candidly and fairly convey my true feelings and experiences about the situation we are faced with, not as a politician but as a leader and parent, who is also raising a family in the midst of the high cost of living we are experiencing as a nation.

Certainly, the rising cost of living is hurting and there don’t seem to be quick political fixes our people were promised. No one today is saying “Bally will fix it” – not even Bally himself. This is worrying.

With the rising cost of living, our people are feeling the pressure financially, psychologically and otherwise. Words fail me to best describe the level of grief, sadness, anger and hunger I have come into contact with during my visits to several and different households and communities across the country – both in urban centers like Lusaka and the Copperbelt, and rural areas like Chinsali, where I am a traditional leader.

In my trips to these communities, the sadness, brokenness and desperation, which the rise in cost of living has brought to our people is heartbreaking and painful. We have witnessed unprecedented levels of hunger, poverty and despair amongst citizens, which is difficult to comprehend and later on articulate in a way that best reflects what is currently happening in our nation.

It is a fact that the rising cost of living is more than an economic squeeze: it is a public health emergency, potentially on a par with the COVID-19 pandemic. Not being able to afford the essentials, such as food, rent, electricity or transport, has wide-ranging negative impacts on mental and physical health and well-being.

Families are in distress. Basic daily feeding has become a very big challenge. Our mothers, our wives, our aunties, our sisters are failing to sleep. Blood pressures are rising exponentially with the rise in the cost of living. Far too many people in the country today can barely afford a meal or two in a day. We have seen how some households have devised a system to ensure that at least everybody eats something to keep them going. And this system involves members of the household to alternate between meals; where one group eats lunch and leaves dinner for the other group that skipped lunch to eat as well.

This may sound weird and baffling but that is the reality. It’s happening in many households. Families are stressed and are breaking as providers battle to deal with the mental trauma of losing a livelihood and the inability to cope with the situation and fend for their families. Definitely, there is a silent but tragic story unfolding in our country today and politicians should urgently protect the most vulnerable, those in distress.

These problems cannot be left to our pastors, reverends, priests and other religious leaders when even the Sunday church offerings are declining because congregants have nothing or have very little to put in the basket. This is the first experience of such sharp and sustained cost of living increases since the 1980s. But unions were stronger and pay agreements were very different then.

While prices are increasing everyday our earning power has been stuck in a rut. The cost of living has increased steadily and relentlessly over the past two years. But our political system means politicians’ promises to tackle it have been largely futile.

It will get worse. This gnaws away at a person’s dignity.

An experience typically reserved for the poor is now afflicting middle classes and they aren’t happy. It is spilling over to our politics and there’s panic in the political leadership of our country. They are scared about how the people will react to all this. They don’t want anyone to talk about it – hence the attempt to silence key opposition leaders and critics. They are scared that talking about these issues may spark protests, hence the attempt to silence, intimidate the opposition with charges of treason, espionage and so on and so forth.

But this will not work. They can silence a few timid politicians, hire some spineless, hungry and greed opposition politicians to speak for them, but it won’t help them much. They can’t silence the hungry masses of our people because if there’s no one to speak for them – because their authentic representatives have been silenced – they will eventually start to directly speak for themselves. And their language will be very clear to be ignored!

This uncontrolled daily increase in the cost of living is a time bomb! Therefore, arresting us on trumped up treason or espionage charges won’t do – it will be an exercise in futility which is bound to backfire. And without us the explosion of this time bomb may be uncontrollable.

We socialists are patriots. With or without us we would like to see Mr Hakainde Hichilema and his league succeed in addressing these very distressing challenges facing our people and our homeland. We don’t want to defeat them on the back of national failure. There will be enough reasons to seek their removal on August 13, 2026. Baleya!”

Police arrests 26 years old man for scamming over 50 people in Chongwe

POLICE in Chongwe have arrested a youth for allegedly scamming residents from five districts out of their monies on the pretext that he had goods for sale.

Aaron Silwamba, aged 26, who was on the run but was apprehended in Chongwe, has since been surrendered to Kafue Police Station, where he is also alleged to have scammed members of the public.

The suspect has allegedly swindled about 50 members of the public in Choma, Maamba, Mazabuka, Kafue and Chongwe.

Zambia Police deputy spokesperson Danny Mwale said police received the report and have since identified the suspect as Aaron Silwamba, a Matero resident.

“This suspect was arrested in Chongwe for scamming a Chongwe resident K10,000. He has since been formally charged and arrested and since been surrendered to Kafue Police Station, where he is facing similar offences,” he said.

Isaac Tembo, a resident in Choma, said two months ago the suspect advertised on social media that he had a plot to sell at K30,000.

He said because he was in dire need of land, he decided to get the phone number and phoned the suspect.

“I called him, we went together to check the property and I paid the money.

He promised to give me all the necessary documents for the land but he blocked me and later changed his phone number,” Tembo said.

Another victim, Majory Bwalya, who lives in Mazabuka, said three months ago the suspect posted on social media that he had a company which allowed people to invest money and after a month the person could get back the money with an interest of 30 percent.

“I got interested. I met him in person and I invested K50,000. When it was time to get my money with interest, the suspect blocked me. I tried calling him using a different phone number, but it went off,” he said.

Ms Bwalya said the money which she invested was meant for her to start up a business which was supposed to be her only source of income.

Minister Chushi Kasanda accuses Fred M’membe and others of being charlatan

MINISTER of Information and Media Chushi Kasanda has labeled individuals such as Socialist Party leader Fred M’membe, Emmanuel Mwamba, Chilufya Tayali, and Raphael Nakachinda as charlatans.

Commenting on a documentary produced by a Zimbabwean journalist, dubbed ‘The Grand Scheme’, in which the four opposition leaders feature, Ms Kasanda said the four should not be allowed to disintegrate the cordial and good bilateral relations Zambia shares with Zimbabwe.

Ms Kasanda who is also Chief Government spokesperson said the appearance and views of Dr M’membe and others in the documentary gives credence to the glaring fact that they would not mind seeing Zambia destabilised in order to achieve their ambitions.

“It is saddening to see them literally discredit their own country and leader for the sake of international acclaim when in actual fact they are causing permanent and irrevocable damage to the reputation of our peaceful country. These are failed politicians who are trying to solicit foreign support with a sole aim of destabilizing a constitutionally elected Government in Zambia. They are clearly blinded by their hatred for President Hakainde Hichilema and the UPND Government,” she said.

Ms Kasanda said it is also of great concern to Government that the group has extended its smear campaign to Dr Nevers Mumba who was merely doing his work on behalf of SADC.

She said the Zambian and Zimbabwean Governments are currently enjoying an affable relationship.

“For the record, the Zambian Government was invited for President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s inauguration and we honoured the invitation through our Minister of Foreign Affairs. Hon. Stanley Kakubo, who was in attendance,” she said.

The minister implored Zambians to see through the group whom she said have no interest of the Zambian masses at heart.

She said their involvement in the documentary is utterly irresponsible and unacceptable, urging Zambians to question their patriotism and morality levels.

Zambia's President Hichilema Rejects Lavish Official Car

Zambia's President Hichilema Rejects Lavish Official Car.

In August 2021, Zambia witnessed a remarkable display of humility and fiscal responsibility when President Hakainde Hichilema refused a $1.8 million luxury car that had been purchased for him upon assuming office. This decision sent a powerful message to the nation and the world at large.

President Hichilema's rejection of the opulent vehicle underscored his commitment to prudent governance and financial accountability. He believed that such extravagant expenditures were inappropriate, especially in a country facing economic challenges. Instead, he opted for a more modest official car, setting a precedent for responsible leadership.

Musamba has appeared before the Lusaka magistrate

Police Inspector General Grapheal Musamba has appeared before the Lusaka magistrate in the case he stands accused of defamation by Socialist Party Zambia leader Fred M’membe.

The complaint is in relation to inspector General of police’ press briefing on August 8,2023 in which he said Dr M’membe’s statements on various social media platforms were inciting peace-loving Zambians into civil disobedience.

But Dr M’membe has stated that Musamba’s utterances in their natural and ordinary meaning were meant and understood to mean that he was instigating rebellion and anarchy in the country.

When the matter came up today Magistrate Chrispin Hampungani asked Simusamba why he never showed up before court. In response, the IG responded that he had consulted the state advocate who advised him not to come.

He has since been warned and advised to make himself available before court and in the case he fails , proper communications must be done explaining the reasons why he has failed to make it to court.

The matter has since been adjourned to Friday August 15 for another mention.

Earlier the prosecution team told the court that the Director of public prosecution DPP has not yet issued a consent letter to prosecute the matter.

The prosecution team has expressed ignorance as to why consent has not been given hence asking for an adjournment to allow them find out why consent to prosecute the matter has not been granted.

IMPERIALIST PUPPETS MUST ACCEPT THAT THE ZIM ELECTIONS ARE A CLOSED CASE

It’s time these puppets, agents of imperialism and white monopoly capital realised that their assignment to deliver the election result their masters were expecting in Zimbabwe has failed.

They will not manage to manipulate the whole of SADC into joining their scheme. They are isolated and almost alone. It requires little intelligence – if a little is all one has – to realise that the extraordinary SADC meeting they are seeking over the Zimbabwe elections will not happen.

And their endeavours on this score may just lead to further isolation, ridicule and humiliation.

If the United Nations Secretary General Antonio Gutteres has joined many global leaders in congratulating President Emerson Mnangagwa for being declared winner in the 2023 elections, who are these puppets and agents of imperialism to think they can manipulate the whole of SADC into supporting their scheme against Zimbabwe?

The Zimbabwean elections are a closed issue. The only authority that could have adjudicated on these elections are the courts of law in Zimbabwe. But even that avenue is closed – it has lapsed.

Let the elected leaders of Zimbabwe lead and govern their country – they have a lot of work to do and have no time to lose.

Fred M’membe
President of the Socialist Party

The quake hit Morocco late on Friday with the epicentre in the High Atlas Mountains, 71km (44 miles) south-west of Marrakesh, at a depth of 18.5km, the US Geological Survey has said. There was a 4.9 aftershock 19 minutes later.

Morocco state television has reported at least 632 people are dead with around 329 more injured. Many of the fatalities are said to have occurred in harder-to-reach mountain areas south of Marrakesh.

Social media clips have revealed collapsed and damaged buildings and streets covered in rubble, while other buildings are shuddering. Panicked people are seen fleeing their homes and walking through clouds of dust. People were also seen screaming while running out of shopping centres and restaurants.

Witnesses in Marrakech, which is a Unesco World Heritage Site, told the Reuters news agency that some buildings in the old city have collapsed. Big cracks were seen in a section of the medieval city’s walls.

Moroccan television showed footage of a fallen mosque minaret with rubble lying on smashed cars. The Interior Ministry urged calm, saying in a televised statement on the death toll that the quake had hit the provinces of Al Haouz, Ouarzazate, Marrakech, Azilal, Chichaoua and Taroudant.

At least 329 people have been injured and are being treated in hospital. The Marrakesh Regional Blood Transfusion Centre has appealed for people to make blood donations for the victims of the deadly earthquake.

The head of the National Institute of Geophysics in Morocco has said that the earthquake is the strongest in a century in the country. He said the core of the earthquake was the al-Haouz region in southwest Morocco.

The ministry stated that most damage occurred outside of cities and towns, and the United States Geological Survey has warned that the death toll is likely to rise as rural buildings are not built to sustain such earthquakes.

Montasir Itri, a resident of the mountain village of Asni near the epicentre, said most houses there were damaged. “Our neighbours are under the rubble and people are working hard to rescue them using available means in the village,” he told Reuters.

Further west, near Taroudant, teacher Hamid Afkar said he had fled his home and felt aftershocks. “The earth shook for about 20 seconds. Doors opened and shut by themselves as I rushed downstairs from the second floor,” he said.

Marrakesh is a historic area and a popular tourist destination. It has been an area of pilgrimage and migration for centuries.

LIES! LIES! LIES! AWE HICHILEMA WAKULEKAFYE KUBUFI!- Fred M’membe

LIES! LIES! LIES! AWE HICHILEMA WAKULEKAFYE KUBUFI!

Mr Hakainde Hichilema’s natural propensity to lie, deceive, and manipulate is out of this world.

To be honest, we have never seen or met any other person who shamelessly lies in such an extreme and uncommon manner with a straight face.

This man lies incessantly to get his way and does so with very little awareness or guilt. He is simply never bothered by his odd behaviour. For instance, just listen to the lies and inconsistencies on the Vedanta/KCM saga. Even the body language is very clear to see. The man has perfected the art of being a liar and manipulator over many decades.

Does Mr Hichilema even listen to himself when he’s speaking? Does he take time to watch or review the footage and sound bites of the commitments and promises he makes on different platforms, to get a feel of what people actually think of him?

It is important that he does so in order to ensure that he has an adequate understanding of what the lies and misinformation he deliberately peddles in public means to the people.

In fact, it’s sad to mention that, when it comes to lies and deception, Mr Hichilema surpasses all six previous presidents who have ruled this country.

Yes, like all human beings, Dr Kaunda, Mr Chiluba, Mr Mwanawasa, Mr Banda, Mr Sata and Mr Lungu had their failings, but this level of lies and deception has never been seen in State House before. They were relatively believable and trustworthy leaders in many ways, especially when it came down to matters affecting the livelihood of the poor and marginalised people and communities of this country.

A leader with a never-to-be-forgotten reputation for being a liar, deceiver, and manipulator like Mr Hichilema is the first of his kind to occupy the presidency of this country.

Kubufi kwena, awe Hichilema wakulekafye!

Former First Lady Esther Lungu Released from Police Custody

Former First Lady Esther Lungu has been released from police custody after former President Edgar Lungu made a determined stand at the police station in Lusaka’s Ibex residential area. It was reported that the former President even entered the holding cells where his wife was detained.

The situation escalated when a significant number of Patriotic Front (PF) cadres and opposition political leaders began converging on the police station.

Mrs. Lungu was eventually released at approximately 21:00 hours local time.

This development unfolded against the backdrop of charges brought against Mrs. Lungu, including theft of motor vehicles, which had garnered significant attention and raised questions about the circumstances and implications of these charges.

While Mrs. Lungu’s release is a significant turn of events, investigations into the charges against her and her co-accused are expected to continue, and legal proceedings will determine the outcome of these allegations. The former First Lady was officially charged and arrested by the police on multiple counts, including theft of a motor vehicle. She faces three charges of Theft of Motor Vehicle, alongside four other individuals.

The co-accused in this case are James Phiri (49 years old), Lee Chisulo (31 years old), Kapambwe Lungu (42 years old), and Catherine Banda (30 years old), all residents of Lusaka.

In addition to the theft of motor vehicles, the group is also charged with one count of Theft of a Certificate of Title for a property located in Lusaka’s Libala South. Furthermore, Mrs. Lungu has been charged with the offense of Possession of Property Believed to be Proceeds of Crime.

Life imprison if you steal a cow. New Law says

Life imprisonment if you steal a cow

GOVERNMENT has proposed introduction of a law that will ensure that anyone who steals livestock, such as cow, is denied bail when arrested in connection with stock theft.

This follows Cabinet’s plans to amend some sections of the penal code in relation to stock Theft.

Last Wednesday, Cabinet, in line with the approval to amend Section 275 of the Penal Code to accommodate the revision of penalties relating to stock theft, approved the publication and introduction in Parliament, during the next sitting, The Criminal Procedure Code (Amendment) Bill, 2023.”

The objectives of the Bill are to amend the Criminal Procedure Code, so as to make the offence of stock theft non-bailable.

It also seeks to empower all classes of the subordinate Court to commit matters required to be committed for trial to the High Court and revise the powers of the Chief Justice relating to issuances of Rules under the Act.

This is according to statement issued by Chief Government spokesperson Chushi Kasanda to update the nation on the decisions of the 14th Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday last week called by President Hakainde Hichilema.

“Cabinet also approved the publication and introduction in Parliament, during the next sitting, of the Bill entitled “The Penal Code (Amendment) Bill, 2023. The objective of the Bill is to amend the Penal Code, so as to revise the penalties relating to stock theft.

“Currently, Section 275 of the Penal Code Act provides for different penalties depending on the type of stock that is stolen,” Ms Kasanda said.

She said , however, due to the rise in stock theft in the country, it has become necessary to amend the Penal Code Act so as to, among others, revise the penalties relating to stock theft in an effort to deter would-be criminals from committing the offence of stock theft which will invariably, allow for economic growth at a household level.

“Cabinet agreed that there is need to deter criminal activities on livestock theft in the country through stiffer penalties and, therefore, the proposal through this Bill is more appropriate,” Ms Kasanda said.

Colleagues are thinking of a coup d’état – Hichilema

My colleagues wants a coup d’étatPresident Hakainde Hichilema (HH) has disclosed that there are some people planning to takeover government through a coup.

After a rally to mark two years of his government in office, President Hichilema warned that he will not allow those planning to takeover government like in other countries.

“To colleagues that think, we are timid by being kind and that they can break the laws and entertain thoughts of illegal take over of government including undemocratic coup d’état, our only word is that; We are coming for you and we will not allow you to make Zambians start running around as is the case in some places,” warned President Hichilema in a statement below posted on his Facebook page Monday night seen by Zambian Eye.

Africa has of late been experiencing coup d’éta especially in west and central Africa where the Military has taken over in eight countries the latest being in Gabon last week.

President Hichilema without giving details warns that his government is not timid saying it will go for them.

Below is his full statement:

Thank you very much, people of Kanyama.

We are grateful for your continued support. Your appreciation towards our efforts in setting our country’s economic path on the right trajectory means a lot.

Your call on us to keep working towards the reduction of the cost of living is cardinal.

It is for this reason that we have intensified talks regarding the much needed fair pricing for mealie meal.

In the short term, we have intensified monitoring of those who could be smuggling our mealie meal and maize into other countries. We will stop this, and as this is being done, we have called on Millers to charge a fair price on mealie meal.

In the long run, we are calling on each citizen to take keen interest in farming and also support our policy that a farmer must be paid well for their maize in order for them to be motivated to grow more and subsequently mealie meal prices will drop.

We are in this together, and we must all get involved.

However, to colleagues that think, we are timid by being kind and that they can break the laws and entertain thoughts of illegal take over of government including undemocratic coup d’état, our only word is that; We are coming for you and we will not allow you to make Zambians start running around as is the case in some places.

Once more. Thank you, people of Kanyama, for voting for us, and yes, as the Hakainde Hichilema family, we will sink a borehole in each of the wards in Lusaka District and challenge all those that can to join us in this initiative. Water is life.

Thank you, and thank you.

God bless our country.

Hakainde Hichilema
President of the Republic of Zambia.

Kitwe man files for divorce after discovering wife’s hidden past: three children, not one

Kitwe man files for divorce after discovering wife’s hidden past: three children

A 30-YEAR-OLD MAN from Kitwe has taken legal action against his wife, seeking a divorce, after discovering a deceit that had been concealed for several years.

The husband, James Banda, and his 29-year-old wife, Barbara, who are both Jehovah’s Witnesses, tied the knot in 2013, embarking on what seemed like a harmonious marital journey.

However, the facade of their blissful union began to crumble after two years of matrimony when Barbara finally mustered the courage to reveal a well-guarded secret that she has three children, not just the one she had previously claimed.

“When we were about to get married she told me she had one child and I accepted because I also had one. Two years later she said she had three children and this came as a surprise to me,” said James.

In his testimony James told the court that he wanted to divorce his wife because he has no capacity to provide for the three children.

He said he was also disappointed that his wife and her family did not tell him the truth from the onset of their relationship.

However, Barbara told the court that she does not want a divorce despite her husband already marrying a second wife.

Barbara said the two have been on separation for four years with her husband having already married another woman.

She said she was ready to be in a polygamous marriage because she still loved her husband.

Barbara said she regretted her actions and asked James for forgiveness.

“I asked for forgiveness from my husband after telling him and he forgave me but his family started forcing him to divorce me because of the past mistake,” she said.

After Barbara’s testimony, the court said it could not divorce the couple because doing so would be against Barbara’s will.

The court ordered Barbara and James to return to court after agreeing on one thing.

15 Year Old Vubwi Boy Dies After Tones of Gold Fell on him

A 15-year-old boy has died after a mine collapsed on him in Vubwi district of Eastern province.

The minor named as Amadi Zulu, died after a makeshift mine he and his family members were digging in search for gold, fell on him in Chithumba area of Chief Pembamoyo.

Eastern Province Police Commanding Officer Limpo Liwyalii confirmed the incident.

The Police Commanding Officer said that the incident occurred on Thursday, August, 31, 2023 when the said teenager was mining gold in the river banks of Kangwamunyanga stream.

And according to Martin Mbewe , a witness close to the bereaved family, said the boy was in the company of two other family members who fortunately survived the mine breakdown.

“His two colleagues were saved in time but it was too late for Amadi as he was in the deepest part of the trench,” said Mr Mbewe.

Another eye witness said the victim’s mother witnessed the incident but stood helplessly as she was several meters away.

“The victim’s mother who happened to be not more than 30 meters away from the trench noticed the mine collapsing and shouted for help but it was too late to save the juvenile”, he said.

Meanwhile, the body of the minor was later retrieved and was buried yesterday at Mofati one village in Chief Pembamoyo area.
